First edition of the “Maioridades” event, an initiative by Misericórdia de Santo Tirso, produced by Idioteque, at the Auditorium Centro Eng.º Eurico de Melo, in Santo Tirso.
With the presence of Professors Manuel Sobrinho Simões and Elsa Logarinho, geriatric cancer, prevention and diagnosis, loneliness and depression in the elderly or the impact of their illness on the family, at a social, financial and psychological level, were discussed, in one evening which also featured the performance of Tirsense musician Dan Riverman.
Manuel Sobrinho Simões is a doctor specializing in cancer diagnosis and research, founder and director of IPATIMUP (Institute of Pathology and Molecular Immunology of the University of Porto) and founder of i3S. In 2015 he was considered the most influential pathologist in the world.
Scientist Elsa Logarinho is leader of the research group «Aging & Aneuploidy» and is internationally recognized for the work she has developed in the area of aging.
Musician Dan Riverman, who has already carried out production work with Saul Davies, guitarist of the British band James, and recorded several songs that were highlighted in soap operas, films and national television programs.
