2nd Edition Tratar o cancro por tu: Porto

First session of the second edition of IPATIMUP’s “Tratar o cancro por tu” initiative, took place at the Almeida Garrett Library – pediatric tumors. With contributions from Manuel Sobrinho Simões, Jorge Lima, Delfim Duarte and Maria Bom-Sucesso.
Moderation was by Tiago Alves and Miguel Soares, from Antena 1, with the presence of the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, and a performance by Jorge Serafim.

“60 years ago I had a brother who died of thymoma. It was the biggest trauma of my life and that of my entire family, and throughout my life the word cancer was never uttered. It was a terrible trauma, communication was non-existent. […] My brother was 3 years old, he was diagnosed when he was one and a half years old. […] I would like to know if thymoma is still an incurable cancer.”
