“Fucking N’Elas”, by Rui Vicente, is the opposite of what it seems – a sexist title for a story in which the strong and dominating characters are female. Women always win, it is written at some point in the text. Paulo, a lawyer at the beginning of his career, to whom the nickname that gives the novel its name is maliciously attributed, will fall for Dânia, an intelligent and beautiful client, accused of committing a homicide, which subtly leads him to the crime. “Now you belong to me”, she tells him. This senseless love leads him to follow her without knowing what awaits him: another life, death? The desire cannot be explained, it is enough – “I closed my eyes and only saw you”.
“Fucking N’Elas” is the book that makes you forget the crisis.
